Effective date: 1 January 2025·Last updated: 1 September 2025

This Privacy Policy applies to WearHouse (operated by WearHouse Fabrics Ltd, Lagos, Nigeria) and covers our mobile application, website at wearhousefabrics.com, and all related services. By using WearHouse, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

When you create an account, place an order, or contact us, we collect information such as your full name, email address, phone number, delivery address, and payment details. Payment card information is processed through our secure payment partners and is never stored on WearHouse servers.

Information collected automatically

When you use the WearHouse app or website, we automatically collect device information (device type, operating system, unique device identifiers), usage data (pages visited, fabrics viewed, time spent), and location data (with your permission) to enable same-day delivery features in Lagos.

Information from third parties

If you sign in using Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from those providers. We may also receive information from payment processors to confirm the status of your transactions.

How We Use Your Information

To process and fulfil your orders

Your name, delivery address, phone number, and order details are used to confirm purchases, coordinate delivery with our logistics team, and send you order status updates via SMS and email.

To improve our service

We analyse usage patterns to understand which fabrics are most popular, how customers navigate our app, and where we can improve. This analysis uses aggregated, anonymised data wherever possible.

To communicate with you

We send transactional messages (order confirmation, shipping updates, delivery notifications) and, with your consent, promotional messages about new fabric collections, exclusive offers, and WearHouse news. You can opt out of marketing messages at any time.

To prevent fraud and ensure security

We monitor for suspicious activity, verify identities when required, and use your data to protect the integrity of our platform and the safety of all our customers.

How We Share Your Information

Delivery partners

We share your name, phone number, and delivery address with our logistics team and third-party courier partners solely to fulfil your order. They are not permitted to use this information for any other purpose.

Payment processors

We share transaction data with our payment partners (Paystack, Flutterwave) to process your payments securely. These partners are PCI-DSS compliant and handle your card details under their own strict privacy and security standards.

Legal obligations

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or regulatory authority in Nigeria or any other applicable jurisdiction. We will notify you where permitted before complying with such requests.

We do not sell your data

WearHouse does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. Your data is yours.

Data Security

How we protect your data

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) for all data transmitted between your device and our servers. Sensitive data at rest is encrypted using AES-256. Access to customer data within WearHouse is restricted on a need-to-know basis and all staff with data access undergo security training.

Payment security

WearHouse never stores your full card number, CVV, or PIN. All payment processing is handled by PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment partners. Transactions are protected by 3D Secure authentication where available.

Data breach notification

In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, in accordance with applicable data protection regulations.

Your Rights

Access and portability

You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you at any time. We will provide this in a structured, machine-readable format within 30 days of your request.

Correction

If any of the personal data we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to request that we correct it. You can update most details directly in the WearHouse app under Account Settings.

Deletion

You may request that we delete your personal data. We will action this within 30 days unless we are required to retain certain information for legal or regulatory purposes (for example, transaction records for tax compliance).

Opt-out of marketing

You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by tapping 'Unsubscribe' in any email, adjusting notification settings in the app, or contacting our support team.

Data Retention

How long we keep your data

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Order and transaction records are retained for 7 years to comply with Nigerian tax and financial regulations. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.

Anonymised data

We may retain anonymised and aggregated data (such as general purchasing trends) indefinitely for business analysis purposes. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or a prominent notice in the WearHouse app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of WearHouse after the effective date of a revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
